Mohammed honours Dhahi, Ghaffar

 

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed has conferred the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cordon” on Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim and Abdul Ghaffar Hussain.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has conferred the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cordon” on Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Abdul Ghaffar Hussain, Chairman of the Emirates Human Rights Association.

In remarks at a special ceremony, Shaikh Mohammed praised both Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan and Hussein and described them as “two outstanding national figures who have always served their country and championed” its humanitarian, human rights and social causes. “For over three decades, Dhahi Khalfan and Abdul Ghaffar Hussein have always been clad in integrity, dignity, honour and dedication. Righteousness and virtue have always been crowns on their heads.


That is why they deserve this honour today,” Shaikh Mohammed said.

Expressing pride in receiving the honour, Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan said he is “a student of the great mentor, Shaikh Mohammed, in whose school I learnt diligence, devotion and dedication to national work, freedom of expression and courage”.


On his part, Hussain said the honour will always be a source of pride and an incentive for more work in service of the country.

Present at the ceremony were Crown Prince of Dubai Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and Shaikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
