Two Emiratis killed in RAK road accident

Two Emirati young men succumbed to fatal injuries they received in a gruesome traffic accident on the Azan road in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
According to a senior officer with the Ras Al Khaimah police, the first victim, identified only as R.A.A., was 19 years old whereas the second, R.S.R., was 17 years old.
1st Lt. Ibrahim Saif Al Mazrouie, manager of traffic and patrols branch with the Daqdaqa police station, on Tuesday morning said both victims received serious injuries after the car they were traveling in veered off the road and turned over several times.

"A third Emirati young man, who was travelling with the victims in the same pick-up car involved in the mishap sustained grave injuries and was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of a nearby hospital."
1st Mazrouie said the Central Operations Room of the RAK Police was alerted about the grave accident on Monday afternoon. "The three passengers in the car, all Emiratis, were expelled out of the car due to the impact of the accident."

One of the three young men, 19-year-old R.A.A. was pronounced dead at the spot when the paramedics dispatched were trying to rescue him and give him due first aids, he added.

"The two other passengers, 16-year-old S.S.A., and 17-year-old R.S.R., were seriously injured and bled excessively. They were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care."

However, the 17-year-old R.S.R., who was driving the car without a license, could not make it and shortly died after he was admitted to the hospital, Al Mazrouie pointed out.
"The youngest passenger, S.S.A, who was in a critical condition, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit whereas the accident file was referred to the traffic prosecution for due action."
Al Mazrouie urged all motorists to be attentive on the road and observe traffic rules, mainly speed limit for road users' safety. "Parents are highly advised to watch on their kids and never let them drive any car without being licensed." ahmedshaaban@khaleejtimes.com
