The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology has issued a thunderstorm warning late last Saturday night.

According to the NCMS, clouds associated with thunderstorms were reported in the Oman Sea. It caused rough seas and fresh winds in the area.
Rain was reported in areas around the northern areas earlier. First in Ras al Khaimah, and then in Jebel Ali. Light to moderate rain was also reported along Sweihan, Dubai-Al Ain Road.

NCMS has reported last week that the UAE is expected to experience five days of rain.
Rain has also been reported in Al Ain.

Increased rainfall in Dubai, and the UAE at large could be attributed to more than 56 cloud seeding operations that have been taking place since January.
Dr. Ahmed Habeeb, a meteorologist and cloud seeding expert said: "The UAE's Rain Enhancement Programme - through cloud-seeding - has contributed greatly to the higher amount of rainfall being received now than when it was under normal conditions."

In other news, the NCMS has put out a brief update on the weather. They indicated partly top cloudy weather in the country with rainfall taking place in certain areas. Winds will also be fresh and cool especially by the sea. Cloud activity will have an adverse effect on the Arabian Gulf.
