The eagerly-anticipated shopping festival will run for 38 days until February 1, 2020, bringing the city together for a non-stop calendar of thrilling entertainment, promotions and chances to win.While many came to enjoy the free concerts, hundreds were at Burj Park to enjoy the carnival vibes, family-friendly amenities, and the various food stalls serving delicacies from across the world. Many of them were long-term residents of the UAE who had returned to witness yet another edition of the festival. However, Burj Park was also filled with tourists and visitors who are new to Dubai. Furthermore, amid heavy traffic on the roads, hundreds of shoppers returned to malls to get their shopping carts full.Egyptian national Taher Abdulnabi, who has been living in the UAE for 22-years, said: “This is our family’s 22nd DSF. It has only gotten better over the years. This year, the organisers have done a great job with the set-up. It’s a place for the entire family.”Taher’s wife Nanis Salah added: “There is definitely a 100 per cent improvement since the first instalment. Every year, this has only gotten better. We’ve been attending it for so many years now, and we love all of the offerings — from the shopping discounts to the live events.“All our children were born here. Mustafa Yousef, another Egyptian resident who moved to the UAE a month ago, said: “This is my first DSF. I’ve been hearing about it for many years and I’m very excited to be here now. I am looking forward to finding some great discounts as well.”He added: “I am very, very excited to see Cheb Khaled.”First time visitor to the UAE, Russian tourist Oksana Kawarina, said: “I am from Moscow. I was in The Dubai Mall when I heard about this free concert that is happening today. I decided to find my way to the Burj Park.
