The update brings the UAE’s total number of nCoV cases to seven. A four-member Chinese family and a Chinese tourist were the previous confirmed cases in the country. All five travelled to the UAE from the city of Wuhan where the virus originated, according to  authorities.

The embassy of the Philippines said in an advisory that it is coordinating with Mohap and assured that the “Filipino patient is under observation and is being given the necessary medical care in accordance with the highest standards in the UAE”.

Mohap has issued a series of advisories to hospitals and clinics — as well as educational institutions and businesses — about preventive protocols that should be followed.
