Sharjah plans 1,286 bus trips during Eid

The Sharjah Public Transport Corporation is fully geared up for the Eid Al Fitr holidays with 83 buses including 23 new vehicles in the city during peak hours to meet the demand.

According to a senior official, the corporation plans to run up to 1,286 trips during the Lesser Feast, including 812 on public buses. “All trips are scheduled to start from 6am to 11pm,” said Abdulaziz Al Jarouan, Manager of the Transport Franchise and Licensing Department at the Sharjah Transport.

“The Customer Service Centre can be reached on toll-free number 700067000,” he said, noting that all bus schedules are available on Sharjah Transport website: www.mowasalat.ae. Khalid Al Khayal, Manager of the Intercity Transport Department, said Sharjah Transport would increase its inter-city bus trips from 142 to 474 on the Eid Al Fitr days. Buses on route No 112 will make 34 more trips, while buses on route No 113 will make 33 daily trips as compared to the usual eight trips. Buses on route No. 114 will make 15 more trips.

Thirty-three more daily trips have been added on route No 115, while 39 addtional triops will be made by buses on route No 116.

Buses on route No 117 that make only 22 trips on regular days will operate 109 trips on the first day of Eid Al Fitr and 134 trips on the second and third days, Al Khayal said.

Buses on route No 118 will make 19 more trips, whereas buses on route No 308 will operate 32 more trips, he added.
