Absentee funeral prayers for the beloved leader will be held at mosques across the country today.
Dubai bid a sorrowful tribute to Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, who passed away on Wednesday.
Funeral prayers were offered by members of the royal family, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Several members of the Ruling family had earlier taken to their social media accounts to post rich tributes to the late sheikh.
The funeral prayers were offered at Zabeel mosque.

Sheikh Hamdan's nephews — Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai — were among those who lowered the body to the grave in the Umm Hurair cemetery.
