The Emirati trekker, in his forties, could not climb down the mountain because of his injured foot. The rescue team, after receiving the report at 11.16am, immediately dispatched to the site and airlifted the trekker to the Saqr hospital.
The National Search and Rescue Centre urged mountain trekkers to be cautious, particularly in remote areas. “It is important to carry all the means of communications to alert the police in case of emergency.
“Should anyone want to go trekking, they need to keep their family informed,” they added.
“The public is highly advised to avoid going to the mountains or valleys during showers.”
