A 65-year-old woman in India died after being brutally beaten up for eating a mango in an orchard in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the Dalit woman picked up a mango that had fallen on the ground.
The owner, who is from the upper class, got enraged when he caught her eating the fruit and thrashed her mercilessly. 
According to details of the incident on NDTV, the deceased woman identified as Rani Devi, had gone to the orchard to graze her cattle when the incident occurred.
She collapsed soon after she returned home and was rushed to the hospital. The woman, however, died while the accused is absconding.
The incident comes days after a 12-year-old boy was shot in the head for plucking mangoes at an orchard in Bihar's Khagaria district.
The boy died instantly and the owner of the orchard fled the spot.
