KZHF, RCA continue aid to Yemenis

In implementation of the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Dh500-million food aid for Yemeni people, the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) distributed 750 food parcels among displaced people from the Yemeni province of Abyan on Wednesday.

The affected Yemenis expressed gratitude to the President for his generous support, which is a continuation of the humanitarian legacy of late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Meanwhile, the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has intensified its relief efforts and provided more assistance to the people in a number of Yemeni provinces. RCA’s delegation continued touring various areas in Yemen to dispatch necessary relief items among the families who are facing dire humanitarian conditions in the wake of the events witnessed in the country recently. The team provided large amounts of food stuff to the people in Amran governorate, 90km north of Sana’a.

The RCA is undertaking relief work in coordination with its local office in Yemen and aimed at expanding the number of beneficiaries of ‘Sanadhom’ in line with the implementation of the directives of the President; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and the follow-up of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority; to support the humanitarian conditions in Yemen. Suhail Rashid Al Qadi, head of the RCA’s delegation in Yemen, said: “Today’s aid targeted 1,000 Families in Amran city and the next phase relief work will be carried out in Hajjah governorate in north western Yemen.”
