A modern classic. Four talented UAE-based artists, including Spanish opera singer Isabel Canada Luna, will be taking to the SIMA Alserkal Avenue stage on Friday night from 7.30pm for an evening of elegant fusion music in a show called Sonore Al-Andalus. The almost mystical performance will bring together sounds of the Middle East with more Western classical sounds in an intimate and exhilarating atmosphere. Tickets are available at PlatinumList.net
They love you, yeah, yeah, yeah. Reportedly the world’s finest tribute band, The Bootleg Beatles, will bring their recreation of the greatest rock band of all time to Dubai Opera tonight. This show is an absolute must for ‘Beetlemaniacs’ of all ages. Swing into the ‘60s with top tracks from classic albums and a little help from a live orchestral ensemble that will put on a night to remember. Tickets start at Dh145. Are you keto? If you’re maintaining your January resolutions and sticking to your diet, Marina Social by acclaimed British chef Jason Atherton will be hosting a special menu designed for followers. The delicious three-course creation has been put together in collaboration with the UAE’s Keto Goodies. Available on Friday and Saturday for lunch or dinner, the Keto Menu is Dh250 including starters such as ceviche of Norwegian salmon with avocado puree, or steak tartare with truffle dressing, hazelnuts and aged parmesan. For the mains choose from a succulent roast (beef, lamb or chicken) or grilled cauliflower steak with a special assortment of Keto-approved vegetables such as roasted swede, green beans and yellow courgettes. Finally, for dessert, tuck into a Baked Alaska, accompanied with raspberry and yoghurt ripple. It’s on from 1pm to 10.45pm on both days.
Classica Extravaganza. A two-night festival of classical music will be performed by the renowned Almaty Symphony Orchestra, led by the virtuoso soloist from Madrid, Erzhan Kulibaev at The Theatre, Mall of The Emirates, tonight and Saturday featuring popular classical scores such as The Four Seasons and The Seasons in Buenos Aires. Snowpiercer brunch. Warehouse at Le Meridien Dubai by the airport is throwing a one-off Snowpiercer-themed brunch on Friday. No idea what Snowpiercer is? It’s a Netflix action/thriller about a train that circumnavigates the earth following an ice age bought about by a catastrophically failed attempt to stop global warming via climate engineering. This Sci- Fi series has garnered a massive cult following, so Warehouse is getting in on the action with all the snow and winter vibes and a train set up thrown in for good measure. Brunch is Dh259 per person from 1pm to 5pm.

UFC class.
