The India's tech hub has lost 79% of its bodies of water and 88% of its green cover over 40 years, while areas covered by concrete have increased 11-fold
The Court of First Instance found the 32-year-old Pakistani, a porter, guilty of groping the girl in the lift of the building where she stayed. He will be deported after his sentence.
The incident, as told to the court, happened on May 23 when the accused inappropriately touched the teenager.
"We arrested the defendant down the building in the International City shortly after receiving the complaint," a police corporal said.
The officer said they went to the building and saw the victim and her father. "The father told us that a Pakistani man followed his daughter and entered the lift with her. That man asked for her mobile number and touched her."
The accused was spotted near the building. He got scared when he saw the cops and tried to run away.
In Rashidiyah police station, the defendant admitted he sexually harassed the girl.
The girl said during the investigation that the accused asked her where she lived and in which flat and asked for her number. She did not respond to him or try to scream for help as she got very scared when he touched her.
He was still there when she walked out of the lift, she told her father.
