Has reiterated the importance of Dubai Air Show in reflecting the progress attained by the UAE in all domains under the wise leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In a statement made to the ‘Nation Shield’ Journal to mark the opening of the Dubai Air Show 2009, Shaikh Hamdan said the UAE had succeeded in nurturing highly-qualified national human resources and capabilities for organising such world-class events.
Below is the full text of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed’s statement:
“In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful,
We would like to welcome our guests, visitors and exhibitors of Dubai International Air Show 2009 which was born in the UAE two decades ago as a major event for world aviation corporations to meet and keep abreast with the latest developments and innovations in aviation industry.
Thanks to His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, that the UAE has earned a world reputation politically, economically and culturally. This reputation made the UAE a perfect home for a multinational gathering as distinguished as Dubai Air show.
The UAE serves as a strategic meeting point between Asia and Africa, East and West — a home for peace, diversity and creation and with an excellent record in science and technology, investment and administration and an example for countless sisterly and friendly countries. The UAE was a success in raising national cadres needed to carry out UAE ambitious development plans pursued by the public and private sectors.
A glaring example is set by the Dubai International Air Show which is held under the auspices of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Thanks to the close follow up of His Highness and to the highly efficient UAE youth in charge of management and organisation that the Show has become a source of admiration, appreciation and confidence of world renowned corporations.
The ever-increasing number of exhibitors interested in participating in this economic, commercial and cultural event reflects the diversity of exhibitors and rising interest in keeping themselves updated on the latest developments in civil and military aviation industry.
The Dubai International Air Show is viewed as an international forum for senior Arab and foreign politicians, officers, businessmen, investors, media men as well as sightseers. This makes it a perfect economic, commercial, cultural and tourist event that should be properly used to shed the light on our centuries-old culture and genuine values.
May Almighty Allah preserve our beloved country under our wise leadership.”
