The Shaikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, SKSH, one of H.H. the UAE President's initiatives, received the JCI Accreditation in less than two years of the official opening.

Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of H.H. Initiatives Committee and Chairman, Board of Directors of the Medical Office, said the Hospital has adopted all the standards, measurements and specifications due over the past two years in line with international best practices applied by prestigious healthcare facilities.

"Such an accomplishment is part of the strategy of the medical office in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs to assist the hospitals and healthcare centers under its supervision to receive the international quality accreditation in response to the directives of the UAE prudent leadership."

Hassan Ahmed Al Alkim Al Zaabi, Undersecretary and Director General of the Medical Office, said the JCI Accreditation will definitely assist in establishing a system that would measure the quality performance in the hospital.

"It would also ensure the adoption of certain policies and procedures that would guarantee the implementation of the best practices, the improvement of the working environment in the hospital, the development of its efficient operational services, and facilitate the access of patients to the clinics in a short time with high quality healthcare services."

Dr Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of SKSH said the JCI Accreditation enhances the trust of the patients in the hospital, maintains their rights and safety during their stay in the hospital or during their visits to the outpatient clinics.

"The hospital's accreditation assures the commitment of the employees to improve the health of the northern emirates community and providing sustainable healthcare services and become a medical leading hub in the GCC countries."

It also encourages the hospital to be one team and be transparent when communicating with the patients, he added. "It also encourages our colleagues to report accidents and risks to avoid any surrounding dangers."

Dr Mustafa Al Sayed Al Hashimi, CGIO, said the hospital always seeks for achieving happiness and the best quality services for our patients. "It is also very keen to measure patients' satisfaction towards the provided healthcare services in the hospital and established a special unit to achieve their happiness."
