The announcement was made in recognition of DIC’s significant contribution to Dubai’s knowledge economy and its phenomenal success as one of the world’s largest technology free zones.

Designed on the ‘Water’ theme, the Dubai Internet City Station is located between the Sharaf DG and Nakheel Metro Stations. It will have a minimum of five retail outlets in addition to facilities and services available in other metro stations. Malek Al Malek, Managing Director of TECOM Investments’ newly announced ICT Cluster, said, “The DIC is home to over 25,000 professionals who commute daily from across Dubai and other emirates in the UAE. A landmark destination in the UAE and the first among the TECOM Investments free zones, we feel honoured that one of the Dubai metro stations is to be named after Dubai Internet City.”

“DIC is committed to remaining a pioneer in spearheading the latest innovation and development in the region. To have the station named after DIC an acknowledgement of our achievements. The DIC is committed to creating a better working environment for the business community in the UAE; we believe the metro station will benefit our business partners and employees.” —
