Dar Al Ber Society, Ras Al Khaimah branch, in a bid to support vulnerable segments of the society, has contributed food packages to 68 indigent families here.
The second edition of the key project, themed 'Feeding Food', is meant to bring happiness to the hearts of poor and low-income people particularly in the holy month of Ramadan, according to a senior official.
"Each and every package, also known as the 'Ramadan Basket', consists of a variety of basic and important food items and groceries," said Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, Manager of Dar Al Ber in RAK.
The promising scheme has been carried out in collaboration with the RAK Education Zone, as well as a number of government schools here, and the RAK department of economic development, he added.
"The Musa bin Nusair School, Abdurrahman bin Awaf School, Salem Suhail School, Ibn Al Qaim School, Othman bin Abi Al-As School, and the Al Hudaiba School have efficiently chipped in the pioneering charity programme."
Dar Al Ber spares no effort to meet its national and social responsibilities, Al Shehi underlined. "The 37-year-old charity association, based in Dubai, has successfully implemented several charity and development projects for the benefit of low-income people locally and abroad."
