Ban on smoking being planned
AJMAN — The General Secretariat of UAE Municipalities is planning to ban smoking in shopping centres and other public places in all parts of the country to ensure a healthy environment for the public.
During the first round of a meeting of the Secretariat held in Ajman yesterday, Jasim bin Mohammed bin Darweesh, Secretariat General of the UAE Municipalities, said a study was being conducted to prohibit smoking in commercial and shopping centres and other public places in all the emirates. Special committees will be formed to implement the decision and formulate regulations.
