Eight militants killed in Karachi encounters

Karachi - The police officer said terrorists killed in the encounter belonged to Lyari gang-war and the accused were involved in grenade attacks.

Eight suspected militants were killed in two separate police encounters in Karachi's Surjani Town and Machhar Colony late on Wednesday night.
According to reports, Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCL) took an action against a kidnapper group in Surjani Town, in which five kidnappers were killed. Police also seized weapons from their possession. Separately, three suspected terrorists were killed in an en-counter in Machhar Colony.According to the SSP City Fida Hussain Janori, on the information about the presence of terrorists, police carried out search operation where exchange of fire took place with the militants.
Three terrorists were killed in the shootout. The police officer said terrorists killed in the encounter belonged to Lyari gang-war and the accused were involved in grenade attacks, target killings, extortion and kidnapping.
