The Islamabad sessions court issued on Saturday non-bailable arrest warrants for former military president Pervez Musharraf in the Ghazi Abdul Rasheed murder case.
Ghazi Abdul Rasheed, the cleric of the federal capital's Lal Masjid, was killed during a gunfight between militants and security forces in July 2007.
While issuing warrants, Additional Sessions Judge Pervez Qadir Memon ordered the authorities concerned to produce the former president in the court on March 16.
The court also dismissed Musharraf's plea filed earlier in connection with his permanent exemption from court in the case.
Musharraf's counsel Malik Tahir, however, announced his client would challenge the verdict in the Islamabad High Court.
In another ruling on January 18, an anti-terrorism court in Quetta had acquitted Pervez Musharraf in Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Bugti's killing. Bugti was killed in a military operation in 2006.
