Spa Review: Armani Spa

Walking into Armani Spa exactly 15 minutes later than the scheduled time was not the wisest thing to do. Not only because punctuality, in general, is a great virtue to possess, but because checking out this part of Armani Hotel is a feast for the senses. As I enter, my attention is instantly directed to the tastefully done interiors and the ambience the property exuded. Dim lighting, subtle embellishments and some gorgeously packaged Armani beauty products were visual assurances of a promising time.
Be it the sights, the sounds, or the smells, Armani Spa oozes luxury. The décor is minimal but classy, and there is soft music (bamboo flute) playing in the background. The treatment rooms are big and spacious and some of the premium ones are preceded by smaller rooms to cleanse and gently wash your feet ahead of the treatment. A standard practice in most spa treatments, dedicating a special, cosy room for this is exactly the detailing Brand Armani is known for. After walking through the property with my therapist Baby, I was taken to one such treatment room where I would spend the next 80 minutes undergoing a facial and a full body deep tissue massage.
Therapy time
Following a gentle exfoliation, Baby recommends medium pressure for the massage to relieve the sore muscles in my back. The next 40 minutes are spent with her carefully kneading and stretching the stressed areas (back, neck, feet). The massage did leave me energised, even though I felt 40 minutes wasn't enough time for it (perhaps a testament to Baby's skill as a masseuse). The facial comprised standard cleansing, toning and moisturising processes. However, it was the facial mask that not only had a soothing effect on my skin, it also felt supple after the application.
What we loved...
Never have I fallen in love with spa music the way I did here! The choice of bamboo flute was perfect. I was also impressed with Baby's enthusiasm in going beyond her brief to tell me how I should tackle my dry skin. Just shows how invested the therapist is in the well-being of the client.
What we didn't...
At Dh690, the price sounded a bit steep to me for an 80-minute package. But for the month of August, Armani Spa has come up with a special package wherein two guests can come for the treatment at the same price. This is absolute value for money!

Armani Spa, Armani Hotel Dubai, Burj Khalifa - 1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard
Reservations: Call 04 888 3282
