A popular Emirati volleyball player from Al Ahli sports club died on the spot on Saturday in a horrific accident on Awhala - Kalba road.
The deceased, identified as 38-year-old Ibrahim Al Jaddah, was returning from Awhala in Al Fujairah towards Kalba in his Lexus car, when Jaddah lost control of the vehicle while making a curved turn due to lack of attention.
The car turned over several times.
The police have urged motorists to drive with caution and pay attention on the road, and avoid over speeding to avoid any 'surprises' on the road which could cause fatal accidents.
The police said that they received a call at 6:55 am about the accident and rushed to the area where they found Jaddah's body and rushed him to Kalba hospital where was kept until the burial formalities are completed.
The funeral prayers were conducted at Al Zuhr prayers in Kalba's Al Hisn Mosque.
