Two Emirati teens, aged 18, died after their speeding vehicle overturned on an Al Ain road on Thursday.
The driver of the 4x4 vehicle lost its control and the vehicle overturned, according to the police. The vehicle was being occupied by two Emiratis.
The Al Ain Traffic Department said the crash occurred in Al Salamat area of Al Ain during the afternoon.
Col. Ahmed Mohammed Al Zuwaidi, director of Al Ain Traffic Department said police patrols and an ambulance were sent to the scene after the operations room was notified about the accident.
The officer noted that the accident resulted from driving at excessive speed.
"The driver had lost control of the vehicle, which led to the sudden deviation from the road and then overturned," said Al Zuwaidi.
Both Emirati teens who were in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have urged motorists to deter from speeding and to abide by traffic rules and regulations for their safety.
