Dar Al Ber Society branch in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has contributed up to 1,000 baskets containing 20 different food items to the poor and low-income people in Ras Al Khaimah.
Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, manager of RAK branch, said the foodstuff baskets are very essential in the holy month of Ramadan.
"Up to 1,000 people benefited from these baskets which are part of the 'Daily Food' initiative carried out through the holy month."
The baskets contain the most important food items that families need, he added. "These include rice, chicken, two types of flour, sugar, cooking oil, macaroni, lentil seeds, concentrated milk, frozen veggies, cowpea, red beans, green beans, salt, tea, tomato sauce, oats, coffee, and dessert."
Dar Al Ber has also given 130 food baskets to the employees of the Emirates Transport in Ras Al Khaimah, he pointed out.
"Some baskets have also been handed out to other disadvantaged families."
Up to 440 food baskets have been contributed to the new Muslim converts, he stated.
"Similar baskets have been given to other eligible families."
Al Shehi said they have earlier listed out the addresses of the eligible families. "The baskets were later delivered to their houses."
