His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday offered condolences to HH Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and his father HH Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on the death of Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.
They headed a high-level delegation comprising a number of Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, shaikhs and senior officials, to Al Wajba Palace where Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid conveyed condolences from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed also offered condolences to the sons of Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad and other family members, and prayed to Allah Almighty to bless his soul with mercy in Paradise and grant the royal family patience and fortitude.
Earlier on Sunday, the Qatari Emiri Court announced the death of Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar. He was 84.
He ruled Qatar from 1972 until 1995.

Referring to the good deeds and traits of late Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad, they cited his service to his country as well as his co-operation with other Gulf leaders to establish the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and bolster its progress.
Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad and Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa thanked the delegation for their sympathies which reflected the profound relations between the two counties and their peoples.
They prayed for the protection of the UAE and the well-being of its leadership.
Upon their arrival in Doha, they were received by H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar among other officials and dignitaries.
The UAE delegation included HH Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman; H.H. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah; H.H. Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain; H.H. Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah; H.H. Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai;
