A mother was reunited with her daughter after 33 years of separation with the help of the General Department of Airport Security at Dubai Police.

The daughter's parents had separated and the father had taken his four daughters away, the oldest of whom was six years old at the time.
The mother was unable to contact her daughters despite several attempts to do so.
Many years passed, and her daughters grew up and got married. The mother came to the UAE to live with her new Emirati husband.
After a long search, she was able to track down her eldest daughter's contact details.
The daughter was unable to meet her mother because of difficulties in travelling from her country of residence.
As fate would have it, the daughter was forced to travel to India for medical reasons. Her flight was scheduled to transit through Dubai International Airport.
Hoping to meet her daughter, the mother pleaded with the General Department of Airport Security to help her. She told them that she was desperate to meet her daughter, especially because circumstances might not be in their favour and it might be many years before she could see her again.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed Bin Thani, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Ports Affairs and Brigadier General Ali bin Lahej, Director General of Airports Security and Brig. Gen. Mohammed Bin Dylan, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Airport Security, assured her that they would help.
The team monitored surveillance cameras in Terminal 3, where the daughter was scheduled to land. The task was especially difficult because they only had an unclear, dated photograph of the daughter to go by and no way to contact her directly.
After more than three hours of searching, they were able to successfully locate the daughter and reunite the mother with her after 33 years.
The entire staff was moved by the poignancy of the embrace between mother and daughter, who thanked them for their exemplary efforts.
