It is common knowledge that New Year's Eve in Dubai is usually a mix of joy, cheering and of course the chaos that ensues when the fireworks are done and everybody has to go home. Other than that, there's also the concern of taking the perfect New Year's Eve fireworks photo without a stray smartphone or selfie stick popping up inside the frame.
To help everyone have a worry-free time while watching Dubai's spectacular fireworks, we've come up with a list of simple tricks you can do to get the best spots.

Check the latest traffic update

It's a no -brainer that roads leading to the fireworks display locations such as the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah will be packed beyond recognition. Make sure to avoid the main thoroughfares such as Shaikh Zayed Road, Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Wasl Road and Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

If you could, arrive early

By early we mean very early as crowds of people usually gather about an hour or so before the actual fireworks display and when they do gather, finding a good spot to see the fireworks is impossible. Get to the locations, find a place and don't leave it unattended.

Bring a blanket and warm clothes

It's New Year's Eve, and its 12AM in the first day of 2017. Dubai's weather around that time is very cold so don't get caught shivering by wearing clothes appropriate to the climate - especially in the beach areas where it is freezing.

Don't follow the crowd

You can see the Burj Khalifa from up to 95km away and that means a lot. There are plenty of areas around town to spot the fireworks that don't compromise on distance. Both Citywalk and Dubai Design District are clear examples and both have majestic views of the Burj.

Tie it up with another plan

Don't just go out and watch the fireworks! Do something to go with it! Take a leisurely stroll, snap some photos, have a picnic, even do a Facebook Live if you so wish!
