Candidates running for the upcoming Federal National Council Election started their campaign on Tuesday morning.
The campaigning was postponed from September 6 to September 8 following the martyrdom of 45 Armed Forces men in Yemen on last Friday.
As the three-mourning period announced by the government has ended, the campaign is expected to gain momentum in coming days.
In Fujairah, the candidates have started installing hoardings along streets, roundabouts, and pivotal areas in the city and the outskirts of the city and villages to make themselves known to voters.
Candidate Ahmed Ali Obaid Al Hafeiti, who is holding a candidate No 786, said: "With the start of my election campaign, I would like to refer to the historic moments that indicate the complete cohesion of the UAE sons and citizens; be leadership and people, at all situations and circumstances the country may come across."
Speaking about his electoral programme, Al Hafeiti said it include a series of meetings to be held at the residential areas in the city and villages, along with holding symposiums that would be organized at the premises of his election campaign.
The campaign for the October 3 elections will continue till September 30.
