In a statement issued today, an Emirates Airline spokesperson has said that flight EK612, from Dubai to Islamabad on September 9, encountered a technical problem caused by a bird strike upon landing.
This resulted in delaying the return flight, EK613 to Dubai, by about 8 hours, he added.
The spokesperson said that passengers were provided with refreshments in the departure lounge before being flown to Dubai at 5:30pm, local time, by a replacement aircraft, adding that Emirates Airline had apologised for any inconvenience caused.
"The safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised."
