The Sudanese blacksmith denied in court a molestation charge.
According to public prosecution records, the incident took place on November 1 and was reported at Al Muraqqabat police station.
The girl's father, a Sudanese, said that on the day of the incident he had gone out with his family to Al Mamzar Park.
"I went there to meet some relatives. I was sitting with my family when I suddenly noticed that my girl was not among us. I went looking for her but in vain."
After about half an hour, the girl came with a man, the defendant. "My wife took our daughter aside and asked her where she was," the father recalled.
He recounted how he heard from his wife that their daughter was taken by the accused inside his car.
"The accused lifted her skirt and touched her. I went to him and confronted him about it and he confessed in front of the witnesses. I called the police right away," the father told the prosecution investigator.
The defendant was apprehended shortly thereafter.
During police interrogation and public prosecution investigation, the man admitted to the charge.
The trial has been adjourned to December 29.
