Operating times are altered according to the nature of each season and the movement of the emirate's residents throughout the year
The Ajman Police on Wednesday announced the extension of a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines. The discount offer — rolled out to mark the 49th UAE National Day — will now be on till January 15, 2021.
The discount is applicable on all types of fines for violations committed in the emirate before November 23. Major-General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police, said this also covers the cancellation of traffic points and vehicle impoundment.
The offer, the police said, does not apply to serious traffic offences, such as reckless driving that endangered people’s lives; unauthorised vehicle modifications; and violations of Covid-19 precautionary measures.
Discounted fines can be paid at Ajman Poice service centres, Sahl smart kiosks, the Ministry of Interior app and the police app. Maj-Gen Al Nuaimi said the extension comes as part of the authorities’ efforts to serve the public and help motorists pay off accumulated penalties.
