300 distinguished numbers on offer at RTA auction

The Roads and Transport Authority’s Licensing Agency is offering 300 distinguished vehicle registration numbers during its 26th online auction, which starts on April 29.

The numbers at the auction, which continues for three days, will have A, B, M, N, L, K and O codes, as well as numbers for vintage vehicles to meet the needs of various community segments who fancy acquiring unique number plates. Registration for the auction started last Tuesday and will continue till the last day.

Mohammed Abdul Karim Nimaat, Director of Vehicle Licensing, Licensing Agency, said: “The forthcoming online auction will feature an array of distinguished number plates for ordinary vehicles as well as vintage cars to fulfil the needs of a community segment who are fond of acquiring this sort of vehicles. About 56 plates comprising three, four and five digits for classic cars will be listed, in addition to four- and five-digit plates for ordinary vehicles.

“The next online auction is poised to attract considerable public attention as it offers a diverse cast of numbers for ordinary or vintage cars, besides the fact that online auctions are characterised by a unique atmosphere to the liking of various spectrums of the community, offering them a convenient, transparent and enjoyable experience in selecting plates without going through the hassles of waiting or wasting time and effort.”

To participate in the auction, the potential bidder has to have an account at RTA website (www.rta.ae), and must have a registered vehicle in Dubai. Otherwise, the bidder is required to visit any customer service centre, and seek assistance from employees in completing the registration process and participating in the auction. Additionally, each participant is required to deposit Dh5,000 as a refundable deposit in case no successful bid is made.
