Known as the "wild royal", the public has been delighted to see Prince Harry growing up over the years and getting himself into harmless trouble. We've also seen him serve his country, give back to the community and push the boundaries of what it means to be a prince!
Check out these interesting facts about Prince Harry who's City Times IT Boy this week.
Prince of Philanthropy
Prince Harry is patron to several charities and is joint founder and patron of Sentebale, which helps children who were orphaned because of AIDS in Lesotho, South Africa. It's no surprise that Prince Harry likes to give back. When he was a child, Princess Diana took William and Harry around homeless projects and AIDS wards in the hope of instilling them with the social duties towards their country.
Wild Prince
Harry made news in 2005 when he posed in a Nazi uniform (for a party) and then for getting photographed naked in Las Vegas in 2012. Apparently Harry was a bad boy even as a child! Allegedly Harry started drinking at the age of 12 and had his first cigarette when he was eight years old. Wow! He's also hosted some pretty crazy parties in Prince Charles' country house when he was studying at Eton. The house was given the nickname "Club H" - LOL!
Media Prince
One would think that Harry, like the rest of his generation would be obsessed with social media. Negative. Apparently Prince Harry really hates Twitter but he did have a secret Facebook account under the name Spike Wells up until 2012. But his advisers apparently told him to shut it down after those photos of him naked in Las Vegas went viral. We wonder who he was FB stalking!
Prince of Ice Cream
So Prince Harry is just like the rest of us! He really, really, really likes ice cream! Apparently Prince Harry loves ice cream so much that he ran after an ice cream truck while serving in Afghanistan during an interview in 2013. The whole thing was recorded and the video went viral!
Prince of Space
This is shocking and hilarious but Prince Harry is a massive Star Trek fan. Geek alert! Apparently his love for the TV series inspired him to become one of the first royals to visit space and he's desperate to take one of the 430 spots on Sir Richard Branson's first Virgin Galactic sub-orbital flights. Yikes! To add to his geekism Prince Harry also has a passion for botany and enjoys studying flowers. maan@khaleejtimes.com
