Huawei introduced its upgraded MateBook 13 portable PC, aimed at young professionals and built to target a wider audience.
The company has built a strong presence in the PC industry through innovative Ultrabooks that are connected to its ecosystem of devices. Huawei's refreshed MateBook 13 combines the Multi-Screen Collaboration feature with Huawei's FullView display, extreme portability and premium build quality
"Notebooks are one of the primary screens that play a major role in our all-scenario strategy. Interconnection between smart devices and laptops is required to provide users with a truly seamless one-stop experience," said Keith Li, country manager of Huawei Consumer Business Group UAE.
"The new Huawei MateBook 13 combines premium aesthetics, a connected Multi-Screen Collaboration experience, the expansive FullView Display and great performance to deliver a mobile user experience that is refined, convenient, portable and powerful."
Huawei says the MateBook 13 sets a new standard for devices in its class. Multi-Screen Collaboration allows users to have the flexibility and convenience of a shared ecosystem of devices that make it possible to work efficiently and enjoy entertainment seamlessly across smartphones and laptop computers.
It is powered by a 10th Generation Intel Core processor, with and 16GB RAM and with support for 2K FullView Display with Multi-touch and Multi-Screen Collaboration.
Connected future
In the future, laptops will become increasingly more intelligent, efficient and connected devices. Huawei is helping to drive this vision with new innovations that cater to all needs and deliver an interactive experience that seamlessly integrates laptops with phones.
Multi-screen Collaboration does this and more; Huawei was able to clear the obstacle between the basic architecture of Windows and Android systems, realising the full potential of seamlessly connecting the two. It allows a user to drag and drop files between smartphones and the MateBook 13 freely.
At the same time, laptop accessories such as the keyboard and mouse can be used as peripherals of your smartphone, providing a more convenient user experience. The laptop is then able to share more advanced office applications with your phone to uncover a brand-new office experience that includes your phone, for a much more secure and convenient office environment.
Display-wise, the MateBook 13 has a 2K display - 2160x1440 at 200ppi - with a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and supports 100 per cent of the RGB color gamut. It can display rich details for users when viewing HD quality imagery and can effortlessly display images and videos with speed and accuracy.
Users also have the option of a 2K FullView Display with Multi-touch on the MateBook 13. This enables the screen to track multiple touch inputs with high precision and supports Huawei's Fingers Gesture Screenshot feature as well. By performing a three-finger downward swipe, users can quickly capture and save a screenshot.
And with ultra-light notebooks becoming extremely popular, the MateBook 13 has an industry-leading screen-to-body ratio of 88 per cent. Side bezels measuring at 4.4mm provide the MateBook 13 with a large display inside a small form factor helping it to retain its portability. Unlike most 16:9 laptops on the market, the MateBook 13 has a 3:2 display to give it even more viewable screen space. It also measures 286 x 211 x 14.9mm and weighs about 1.3kg.
The MateBook 13 features a large 41.7Wh battery that combines with advanced power management and cooling solutions to provide all-day life. A MateBook 13 can play local full high definition videos for 11.6 hours, support productivity workloads for nine hours, or be used for 8 hours of continuous Internet browsing. It comes with a 65W Type-C portable adapter that is compatible with a range of charging outputs. As well as using the power adapter to charge your laptop, it supports huawei SuperCharge for certain phones.
The Huawei MateBook 13 starts at Dh2,999, while the MateBook D begins at Dh2,499. Pre-orders start on Friday, while general availability will be on March 15. A free tablet and more gifts worth Dh1,599 await customers who pre-order.
