Amidst the gloom brought by the coronavirus outbreak, a 103-year-old grandmother from Wuhan recovering from the deadly infection, comes as a glimmer of hope.
Zhang Guangfen, who is two years older than the last record-holder aged 101, was able to recover after six-day treatment in Wuhan. Doctors who treated the centenarian, believe her quick recovery comes as she did not have underlying health conditions.
Guangfen, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 on March 1, was discharged on Wednesday from Liyuan Affiliated Hospital of Tongji Medical College in Wuhan, Hubei Province of central China, the epicentre of coronavirus outbreak. She was brought in to the hospital in a critical condition and could barely talk, but was cured within less than a week, Dr Zeng Yulan told the local press.

Another centenarian aged 101, known by his surname Dai, has also recovered after undergoing treatment for a week in hospital.
The novel coronavirus has infected nearing 120,000 people globally and worst affected countries currently include Italy, Iran and South Korea, reported Daily Mail.
