Enzymes constantly break down old protein fibers in muscles and control the making of new ones.
Exercise, active lifestyleMore muscle is built than is broken down. Sedentary lifestyle, aging, poor nutrition More muscle is broken down than is built. All three types of movement make muscles grow larger, but isometric exercise does not promote muscle cell construction.
