Temperature will reach up to 36ºC and 33ºC in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively
There is a new offer that is entering the inboxes of many UAE residents' mobile phones. A congratulatory message proclaiming that they have won Dh20,000 through a supermarket chain in UAE. There's only one problem - it's fake.
A message claiming to be from LuLu Hypermarket has been making rounds on social media. The fraudulent message states that the recipient has won Dh20,000 courtesy of the supermarket chain.
Taking to their official Facebook page, the chain alerted residents regarding the messages. The chain also revealed that there is another version of the scam message. This time claiming that the recipient has won vouchers from LuLu. The supermarket chain's Facebook post said:
"Dear fans, beware if you come across a website claiming to give you free vouchers or if you receive an SMS or call saying that you have won with LuLu as it is in no way associated with LuLu Hypermarket. Stay up-to-date with our latest news, promotions, and contests only through our official social media accounts. Thank you."
Time and again, residents are reminded to be wary of such messages that sound too good to be true because they most likely are. Here are some tips to avoid scam messages.
