They have been charged with attempted kidnap and sexual assault. A case was registered on January 20 at Al Barsha police station.
The victim said she did not know the two defendants. "I had just met them about one hour prior to the incident.
"It was around 2am when I was at the rear door of my hotel which overlooks the sea. I met three men and one of them talked to me and told me to add him on Snapchat, which I did. Two of them invited me to go along to a fuel station to buy some food and I got in their car."
They then went to the beach, where they sat down to eat. "I felt worried when I saw them whispering to each other. I told them to drop me back to my hotel but they would not. The second accused sat next to me and started touching me. He pulled me back forcibly inside the car when I tried to leave," she said.
As she was struggling to get out of the car, the other man stepped off, grabbed her by the neck and slammed the door on her leg. They also pulled her by the hair when she tried to escape.
A policeman said they were patrolling the Jumeirah beach after midnight when he and his colleague spotted a girl running towards their car. "She stopped us. She was crying and looked terrified. She could not speak at first and looked in very bad shape. She was holding her neck and kept saying 'they will slay me and rape me'.
"We went with the victim to the sandy area where the incident took place. It was dark and nobody was around. We were using a flashlight. An incident like the one she recounted could have happened unnoticed there," the officer said.
She recounted what happened hysterically, and kept touching her neck.
The policemen called for back up from Al Barsha police station and turned the victim over to them. The duo's confession during investigation that the complainant left her mobile phone in their car is proof of her accusations, according to the public prosecution.
The forensic examiner stated in her report that the victim's body bore bruises and scratches. The toxicology results report showed no alcohol, but the tests detected traces of hashish in her body.
The trial will resume on June 10.
