He had used the amount to buy cars and to spend on his first wife and children.

An Abu Dhabi court also ordered him to pay an annual interest of 5 per cent till the amount is cleared. He will also need to pay for his wife’s legal expenses.

Court documents stated that the Arab woman had filed a lawsuit against her husband, demanding that he return the cash he took from her personal bank account.

In her lawsuit, the woman said she gave a power of attorney to her husband to manage her property, bank accounts and stocks. She said the man managed her properties on her behalf for 15 years.

She later found out that he unlawfully transferred money from her bank account to his personal one without her consent. She said the man also took some of the money he received from renting some of the properties but never declared it.

The complainant said her husband spent the money on his business class travel trips and buying cars. He also gave some of the money to his first wife and her children.

She had asked authorities to investigate the matter and to oblige him pay back the amount.
