Daesh militant gets 15 years for spreading fake news in UAE

Abu Dhabi - He will be deported after serving his sentence.

The Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi sentenced a man to 15 years in jail to be followed by deportation on terrorist charges.
The 45-year-old Arab national was found guilty of being a Daesh militant and publishing fake news articles as well as spreading rumours posing a security threat to the UAE. All electronic devices, mobile phones, and computers were confiscated.   
Another man, 27-year-old GCC citizen, was sentenced to three years in jail and Dh500,000 fine. Several devices were confiscated for the investigation.
Two Emirati nationals were sent to the Ministry of Interior's counseling centre after they were charged with being a terrorist threat.
