France thanks UAE leaders

Dubai - French diplomats said they have been deeply moved after seeing the French flag colours displayed on iconic buildings in the UAE on Sunday.

Majdi Abed, General-consul of France in Dubai said in a statement on Monday: "We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Emirati authorities and in particular the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Aremed Forces; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister."
"We, the French residents in Dubai and other Emirates, have been deeply moved and touched at seeing the French flag colours displayed on the iconic places in the UAE, particularly Burj Khalifa and Burj Dubai.
