Dubai Frame to open to the public in January 2018

Residents will have to pre-book their visit via smart app

There's one more reason to look forward to the new year, as residents can officially add to their 2018 bucket lists a visit to the Dubai Frame.
While the golden structure that stands tall at Zaabeel Park is already undergoing operational testing, a Dubai Municipality official told Khaleej Times the much-anticipated landmark will officially open to the public in January.
"Since Dubai Safari is opening next month [December], we will inaugurate Dubai Frame in January to avoid opening two major landmarks at the same time," Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Leisure Facilities at Dubai Municipality, told Khaleej Times.

Through a smart ticketing system, residents and visitors will be able to access the landmark using their mobile phone. However, Al Suwaidi said the one-hour has to be pre-booked on the app, as the frame will receive a group 0f 20 people per tour.
"It is just like the Burj Khalifa experience where visitors must book their tour online. Those who haven't booked won't be able to go in, unless there's a spot available for them in the group. If there's no spot, they will have to wait to join the next group," said Al Suwaidi.
Paper ticket counters will be available on sight for those who booked online but don't have the system or devices to present their ticket, which could be displayed on a smart phone.
It is worth noting that Dubai Municipality has recently signed an agreement with property giant Emaar to market and promote the Dubai Frame, taking cue from its experience with Burj Khalifa.
As per the agreement, the property giant will provide guidance on the operation of the premises and advise on the selection, recruitment, appointment and training of staff.
The Dh160 million Dubai Frame will provide visitors with 360-degree view of Dubai as they walk through a 93-meter glass bridge to see old Dubai from the north and modern Dubai from the South. The rectangular structure, consisting of two 150-meter towers, connects the past and present of Dubai.
Frame visitors will enjoy a journey through time for only Dh50 for adults and Dh30 for children. Free tickets will be offered for children under 3, people over 60 and people of determination.
