A Dubai entrepreneur will reward social media users who commit good deeds and spread positive messages through the online networks.
Mo Ismail, founder of World Peace Design, launched the #WP Initiative to encourage communities to utilise network tools to do good for others.
As part of the World Peace Initiative, the entrepreneur will reward a winner on a weekly basis with giveaways and prizes for performing a good deed and motivating others to do the same.
"The world we live in is interconnected, and on a daily basis, we are bombarded by all kinds of mixed messages - be it degrading content and "shallow" images that do not necessarily represent anything "good" for other people," said Ismail, a Dubai resident for the past eight years.
Acknowledging the power of technology, Ismail said the networking sites can be a great tool to make a positive change in the world.
The goal of the initiative, he said, is to start re-wiring the framework of people's perception about the world, and encourage them to utilise an available platform to do better for the world.
"We want to hardwire excellence in individuals and always spread the positive message of doing good for communities," said Ismail. "The aim here is to start spreading the message of good, and also reward those who are actively taking part of the mission."
Prizes will range from hats, glasses, bracelets, watches, getaways, experiences and dinners among other rewards.
Social media users can get involved through uploading a picture or video on their social media networking doing something beneficial to the community, while using the #WPInitiative and tagging @MoMuscles. Users can then spread the message of the World Peace Initiative to others to get them involved.
Ismail emphasised that the key is to get people to motivate and inspire each other to do good.
"We don't want people to show off, we just want to create a conversation and get social media users to encourage one another whether their initiative is documented or undocumented," said Ismail.
People can record a video talking about a good initiative they have done, without the need to record it on phone.
Prizes will follow a lottery system or will go to those who did an outstanding contribution to their communities. Ismail also encouraged brands to join the initiative and sponsor weekly prizes. "Let's do good today, feel good and get rewarded."
How to get involved
1-Upload a Picture/Video on your story or feed of you doing something good and beneficial to someone/something or anything good for the community
2-Make sure to use the hashtag #WPInitiative and tag @MoMuscles
3-Spread the message of the initiative to others to get them involved
>>>If you are not able to take a photo/video of your good deed, you could also record a video, and let your audience know the story of what good you have done.
