Dubai — Al Maya will lock prices for 135 basic food and FMCG products across the UAE as part of its Ramadan campaign, said Kamal Vachani, group director, Al Maya Group.
Al Maya has announced a Ramadan budget of Dh1.2 million, offering discounts and subsidised pricing for more than 150 products during the Holy Month.
Banners will be displayed at the entrance of all Al Maya supermarkets and posters put up on shelves to create consumer awareness on Ramadan special prices. The supermarkets will screen information on consumer rights awareness and Ramadan promotional activities, as advised by Dr Hashim Al Nuaimi, director of consumer protection department, Ministry of Economy.
With over 40 supermarkets across the UAE and the GCC and six scheduled to open by the end of 2015, Al Maya Group is on an expansion spree. “Most of our supermarkets are open 24x7 and provide free home delivery,” said Vachani.
“Hampers of great value with Ramadan basic items will be available at all our supermarkets,” he informed.
Al Maya Group has pledged Dh100,000 to Dubai Cares and other local charitable organisations as part of its CSR programme, Vachani observed.
