Palestinians claim that the move equates victim and slaughterer as Hamas leader says requests against Israeli leaders come 7 months late
The announcement was made during the second TOC Container Supply Chain Middle East event hosted in Dubai.
Of the 25,763 twenty foot equivalent units or TEUs that have been offloaded at Khalifa Port Container Terminal to date, 19,889 units or 77 percent of these, were offloaded after September 1. Year to date, the total number of TUEs handled by Mina Zayed and Khalifa Port combined was 550,902. Khalifa Port Container Terminal will be equipped to handle an initial capacity of 2.5 million TUEs of container traffic annually.
Martijn Van de Linde, chief executive officer of ADT, his terminal firm was two months ahead of schedule.
“We had initially anticipated completion of the transitioning process by the end of Q1 2013, but now we are projecting completion in January 2013. This has been made possible by Khalifa Port’s ability to deliver more efficient, cost-effective, and better levels of services since day one of operations, which is a clear demonstration of the Container Terminal delivering its value proposition.”
Angelo de Jong, Technical Project Manager, ADT, a key presenter at TOC Container Supply Chain Middle East, presented Khalifa Port Container Terminal as a case study to showcase ADT’s experience in building and implementing automation of container solutions. At TOC Container Supply Chain Middle East, the ADT team also provided delegates with an update on Khalifa Port’s development and growth, as well as information regarding how it continuously manages to deliver maximum value for its shareholders, partners, carriers, shipping lines and consignees.
Khalifa Port is Abu Dhabi’s new logistics hub with the capacity to accommodate Mina Zayed’s traffic, as well as the cargo traffic that will be generated by Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad). With the capacity to handle 15 million TUEs and 35 million tonnes of general cargo annually, Khalifa Port aims to be one of the world’s largest ports by 2030. — haseeb@khaleejtimes.com
