Dr. Rashid Ahmed stresses UAE’s keenness to facilitate trade

Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, Chairman Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology has stressed UAE’s keenness and its ongoing quest to facilitate the movement of trade between different countries of the world.

During his meeting, with Peter Unger, Executive chairman of the International Organisation for Laboratory Accreditation, (ILAC), he said that this policy is inline with the strategy adopted by the UAE in developing the infrastructure for standardization and quality, as to contribute to the development of commerce and industry of the country and other countries in the region.

The meeting was attended by the GSO-GCC Standardization Organization’s secretary-general, Nabil bin Amin Mullah Amin and a number of senior officials.

The meeting discussed the mechanism of coordination and cooperation between the International Organization for Laboratory Accreditation and Standardization Organization for GCC to approve the results of laboratory testing and analysis in the GCC countries to support the common goals of the UAE and the countries in the bloc to facilitate the movement of trade and support economy.
