Their work is part of the #AThread4Cause initiative by the Arab Fashion Council, the first of its kind in the UAE.

The Arab Fashion Council has teamed up with seven fashion designers based in Dubai Design District (d3) to produce over 13,000 medical gowns in an effort to support the UAE's efforts against Covid-19.

Their work is part of the #AThread4Cause initiative by the Arab Fashion Council, the first of its kind in the UAE.

The campaign calls on locally-based fashion designers to create personal protection equipment (PPE), including protective gowns and surgical face masks for medical workers.

The move is being undertaken in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), which will ensure they comply with the safety standards required.

Fashion houses Maison Yeya, Michael Cinco and Marmar Halim are among some of the top names part of the effort.
