The Indian girl who flew to the UAE to be with the person she loves is an adult, and is capable of taking her own decisions (Indian girl who fled to UAE to be with boyfriend denies 'love jihad' claim; KT, Sept 30). It's not against the Indian constitution or any laws. Understandably, the parents are upset and frustrated but to make it a case of abduction is plain wrong.
On the contrary, they should be admonished for misleading the police. The girl flew to the UAE on her own accord, she wasn't forced to do so by anyone. Shouldn't we be more tolerant and respectful of the choices of our children?

*I don't think the Indian girl who flew to the UAE to be with the person she loves has done anything wrong. Children are not our assets and certainly not an extension of our life. We are only a medium and we should only nourish/educate them. The rest is up to them on how they want to live their life. Please don't try to live your plans and dreams through them.
