Often we read about the role of the youth in nation building, but I wish to talk about the role of a nation in youth-building.
I'm just a student expat here in the UAE for the last 12 years but it gives me pride to call this land 'my nation'. According to the United Nations, individuals of the age 15 to 24 are regarded as youth. Thus this makes me a youth.
Youth need to be educated, and the UAUE. has made education compulsory for children of age five years and above. This is not just for Emiratis but for expats as well. The UAE also ranks among the top 20 in the global education system.
When it comes to healthcare, the government has rolled out several initiatives in the sector which makes it among the best in the world.
And it doesn't end with the pursuit of knowledge and health. The UAE scores high in providing and creating opportunities for its youth.

A nation that values its youth teaches them to value the nation.
The nation's founding father Sheikh Zayed once said: "A country's greatest investment lies in building generations of educated and knowledgeable youth." This is not the land where I was born, but this is the land where I'm learning to grow.
