The grand finale of Etisalat Rangoli Gulf Season 2 came to a sparkling conclusion with a spectacular star-studded programme at the Dubai Modern High School, Nad Al Sheba, last weekend.

The winners were announced by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, to the excitement of the 500-strong student participants and a packed audience from all over the UAE.

In his keynote address, Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision said that the high school musical show has come a long way since the first season was launched in 2011.

“The spirit of Rangoli is not about winning but participation and celebration,” commented Mohanlal at the event and signed off by saying, “We will meet again next year for Etisalat Rangoli Gulf Season 3.”

The prizes were given away by the actor.

The first prize was jointly won by Indian School, Ajman and Our Own Indian School, Dubai.

The second prize went to Millenium School, Dubai while Abu Dhabi Indian School walked away with the third place prize.

Kindergarten Starters, Dubai, won the Special Jury Award for the second consecutive year and JSS Private School, which presented a yoga-based dance, received a special jury commendation.

Etisalat Rangoli Gulf is the first inter-school team competition from the UAE to be shown on TV, in which 20 schools and over 500 students from across the UAE participate every year.

The event is based on the colourful theme of spreading ‘Edutainment through Team Spirit’ among school children in the UAE and is broadcast in HD on e-Masala (Channel No 600), e-Masala + 2 (Channel No. 602) on eLifeTV.
