In continued celebration of Dubai’s burgeoning interest in the pop art movement, Al Quoz-based Courtyard Gallery took its current ‘Pop Wall’ exhibition to the public with a live demonstration of graffiti art at the JA Ocean View Hotel in Jumeirah Beach Residence.
The event, which coincides with Art Dubai and the ongoing ‘Pop Wall’ exhibition held in Courtyard Gallery, was hosted by artists Binty Bint and The Dotmasters - creating live artworks in front of gathered crowds. Children were also invited to express their creativity, with materials provided for them to contribute to a huge collaborative drawing sheet.
Opening last week, Courtyard Gallery’s Pop Wall exhibition is in collaboration with London’s Graffik Gallery, and features pieces from nine artists of UK, Japan and Middle East origins. The exhibition features acrylic and mixed media works, spray painted graffiti artworks, printed posters, and pop-themed purses.
The Courtyard Gallery exhibition is open until April 17.
